CONTINUING EDUCATION COURSE PROVIDERS OVERVIEW
Organizations or individuals who have demonstrated the ability to design, implement, and evaluate continuing education programs for community association managers may submit the Continuing Education Course Provider Application to become a CAMICB approved education provider. Continuing education courses must relate to community association operations or management and contribute to the professional development of the CMCA. Courses related to buying and selling real estate are not acceptable. Examples of topics include:
- Accounting and Business Practices
- Budgets, Reserves, Investments, and Assessments
- Community Governance
- Community Leadership
- Contracting
- Ethics
- Legal Issues
- Meetings
- Property Maintenance
- Risk Management and Insurance
*Providers offering virtual or electronic courses, such as webinars, must provide proof that their delivery platform will track student participation. Community association management company in-house training material must be reviewed and approved by the CAMICB Continuing Education Review Committee. Only one half or eight (8) continuing education credits may be obtained through pre-approved in-house training courses.

Continuing Education Application Process
Organizations or individuals seeking approval for a continuing education program may submit the Continuing Education Application on the CAMICB Continuing Education Website. Providers will be required to create an account to submit an application. There is no fee to create or submit an application. The account will allow providers to view all their submitted applications in one place, including approved programs and programs submitted for approval.
The requirements for successful approval of continuing education courses are outlined above. The CAMICB Continuing Education Review Committee meets monthly to review and approve submitted continuing education applications.
Applications are reviewed on a routine basis throughout the month. The standard review process typically takes up to 30 days. If you are submitting a course for approval with us for the first time (or are relatively new to the process), please note that additional time may be required. All new submissions undergo committee review to ensure alignment with our standards, which may add up to an additional 30 days for approval.
Please plan accordingly to ensure your application is fully approved prior to conducting your program.
We kindly ask for your patience during this time. To help our team remain focused on timely reviews, we ask that you refrain from emailing for a status update unless it has been more than 30 days since your submission.
Once your application has been approved or denied, you will receive an email notification. To ensure successful delivery, please add noreply@secure-platform.com to your contacts. If any changes are required, you will receive an email from our team with an opportunity to revise your course before it is denied.
After Approval
If proposed coursework is judged to meet the criteria set forth, it will be approved for a two-year cycle. Coursework which has been previously approved by CAMICB, may be re-submitted for staff approval in consecutive years, if the coursework has not been altered between years.
Within 45 days of an approved program administration, providers are responsible for submitting an Excel file Attendance Roster to info@camicb.org as well as Certificates of Attendance to students upon successful completion of the program. Course providers are not responsible for maintaining a long-term record of each credential holder’s completed education. Credential holders are solely responsible for recording their continuing education. As part of the CMCA renewal process, credential holders must report their completed continuing education to CAMICB and maintain a record of their certificates of completion in the event they are selected for an audit.
Application Requirements
To speed up the approval process, please keep the below in mind.
- Include Educational Resources: Course applicants must include all relevant educational materials such as handouts, presentations, and any other content provided to learners as part of their submission. These materials are necessary for our team to complete a thorough review of the educational content and ensure the course aligns with our established standards. Please upload all supporting materials to your application.
- The organization logo should not be present in slides with educational content: The CE Review Committee does not permit advertising or promotion of services or goods in any materials that include education content. This includes logos for the organization present in PowerPoint presentation slides. An organization’s logo is allowable in the opening and closing slides. If you need to include your organization’s information for copyright purposes, you can include a copyright notice in the slide without the organization’s logo.
- Include Instructor Bios: Please include a biography for each instructor who will be teaching this program for the CE Review Committee to confirm those administering this program are qualified to teach on the subject matter. Please note that a course biography is different from a resume in that a biography is a short, one or two paragraph overview of the individual’s professional background and career.
- Track Attendance is Required: CAMICB requires that all course providers be capable of tracking and recording attendance for each program administration, whether in person or online. This is because course providers are required to send an accurate attendee list to CAMICB no less than 45 days after each program administration and supply each attendee who completed the entire program with a certificate of completion. Please ensure that your program has the capability of tracking attendance and then update this section. You may use the sample Excel file Attendance Roster as well as Certificates of Attendance to students upon successful completion of the program.
- Replace the term “property manager” with “community association manager.”: There is a difference between a property manager and a community association manager, and as such the CE Review Committee discourages and does not approve the use of “property manager” in submitted course materials and instead expects the term “community association manager.” You can learn more about the differences between these two positions in the short blog post here.
You may use any of the forms below to assist with the application process. All versions contain the same content and are simply provided in different formats (Word, PDF, and fillable PDF) for your convenience.
